Summer Reading Program 2026


The Gladwin County District Library is excited to bring to you READsquared to participate in the Summer Reading Program. 
ReadSquared is our new digital tracking tool for library reading programs. Log your books, complete fun missions, and earn rewards!

How it Works:
1.Register: Create your account online or via the ReadSquared app.
2.Log: Track your reading time (1 day = 25 points).
3.Win: Earn badges and prizes!
Families can manage everyone’s reading in one place!

You can participate with THE READsquared APP
Easily log your activity using the READsquared app. The app is free for both Android and iOS mobile devices.
*You may also come into the libray to register and pick up your reading log.

Join the Summer Reading Kick-Off on June 6th, 9 AM to noon at Gladwin County Library for fun activities and a petting zoo!
Join the 4th Annual Nerf A-Palooza at Gladwin Library on June 8, 4:30-5:30 PM! Fun activities include snacks, target practice, and more!
Summer craft at Beaverton Library: Create dinosaur eyes on June 15 and paint on June 22. Open for teens & adults!
Join the Mario Kart Wii Tournament at Gladwin Library on June 8, 5:30-7 PM. Grades 6-12 welcome! Pizza and drinks provided!
Theater camp for kids ages 7-12 at Gladwin Library from June 8-12, includes snacks, games, and learning about performance. $10 fee.
Invitation to "Tea Rex" story time at Beaverton Library on June 10, 10-11:30 AM, with books, snacks, songs, and tea.
Beaverton Library hosts an interactive movie night on June 16, 3:30-5 PM, with a popcorn taste test at 2:30 PM. Free entry!
Popcorn tasting event on June 16, 2:30-3:30 PM at Beaverton Library. No registration needed; stay for an interactive movie afterward.
Gladwin Library hosts a Babysitting Clinic for ages 11-18 on June 17 & 18. Learn CPR, nutrition, and more for $10. Limited to 20 participants.
Join the Gladwin Library for a Teddy Bear Picnic on June 18th at 10 AM! Bring your favorite stuffed animal for story time and snacks!
Clark Lewis, a juggler, performs high-energy circus acts with a rock soundtrack on June 18, 5:30-6:30 PM at Beaverton Library.
Event at Gladwin Library on June 22: Explore emergency vehicles, enjoy food from Smokin'-Bob-B-Q. First hour quiet for sensory needs.
Gladwin Library hosts a free movie night on June 25, featuring popcorn and a plot about an ancient curse and adventure.
Celebrate 626 Day at Beaverton or Gladwin Libraries on June 26 with themed activities, crafts, and a Stitch Jibbitz! 9am-5pm.
Join T-Rex Tinker Time for family STEM activities on June 29th, 5-7 PM at Beaverton Library. No registration needed!
Free step-by-step painting event for teens and adults at Beaverton Library on June 30th, 5:30 PM to 7 PM. Registration required.
